Starting New! Anew.

THIS WAS RECENTLY POSTED ON ONE OF  MY OTHER BLOGS< DESPITE BELONGING HERE. Duly moved, after 48 short hours on the supposedly indelible Internet. We'll see, I guess.

Well, crap.

Starting my fresh start has obviously not been the roaring success one might wish. So here am I, keeping it... simpler.

And of course since this is really only meant for an audience of one, I can say things like:
"Last night I completed the interim business plan, and this afternoon I implemented the web transfer I worked up in the personal journal"
without explaining what EITHER of those is really about!  (Ha! Suck it, disinterested Internet masses!)

The current plan is a daily forgiveness: today I forgive my sister, whose mental instability makes it impossible to spend time around those of my relatives she lives with.

And three items of gratitude: Today I am thankful for (and here internet privacy bit gets a bit dodgy):
that lady in North Hollywood, who gives me hope and a Reason To Go On,
The lady in Cincinnati, who reminds me that the future is Always Worth It,
and my mother, who whether she meant to or not taught me that Homo ad astra is should be all men's motto.

and finally, two action items to recreate myself as  a billionaire entrepreneur-inventor:
Work up a "to-call" List for the next week,
and reanalyze the numbers for cold-call hits vs misses.

Any amount of work...

There's a bumper sticker I used to see around a lot; "I can complete any amount of work, provided it's not what I'm supposed to be doing."

I HAVE done some (not enough, but some) work in all the arenas mentioned in the last post. Henceforth, I'll also list the stuff that I actually DO get done.

For today (since I have teh kid), let's grab the stuff from 'tother day...
  • 1 hour on the novel, plus
  • print 3 land offers.
  • Also bookmark 5 auction properties to call on...
  • 3 NODs to deliver Fed-Up packets to.

Note here that I've run into a bit of a snag; it turns out that Sheriff Sale properties are listed as "not for sale" on the listing site I've been using -- which is fairly obnoxious, as EVERY bank will consider an offer if it's over the principal amount of the delinquent mortgage. They may or may not ACCEPT  any such offer, but they WILL at least go through channels to make that decision, and (more to the point), a LARGE percentage of homeowners in that situation DO have the house listed with a local Realtor. Given the extra level of weirdness (one would have to basically close immediately, and possibly be required to buy cash-only), it makes sense for the database admin to keep those properties out of the standard database, but it still throws a wrench in MY works. So I'll have to rework my search params to succeed at this.

Also I have about 8 vacant lots with potentially interested sellers; Over the next few days I should burn through the old leads, and will need to start sending out initial interest letters again.

-Remember, I always DID say this blog would be far too dull for anyone to actually READ.

Missed not one day, nor two, but three...

Let's try that again....

Tonight I'll put in:
  • 1 hour on the novel, plus
  • print 3 land offers.
  • Also bookmark 5 auction properties to call on, and
  • 3 NODs to deliver Fed-Up packets to.

------------------
More to the point, TOMORROW:

  • 3 hours on the the book;
  • Print 15 Land letters
  • Print 3 more land offers
  • Deliver those three Fed-Ups;
  • Review necessary paper for reverse-shorts
  • Call the Realtors on 5 Sheriff-sales
Seems like I'm getting MORE ambitious, which is a bit odd for not having finished either of the previous days on time.

I guess we'll see...

Today is a birthday party, so we'll keep it small: one more hour of novel work, and...

You know, let's do the meat-and-potatoes in a more general way.
The real-estate, like everything I seem to do, seems to have this fractal tendency to be far too many little friggin' bits.

There are however three MAIN bits:
  • Vacant land
  • Short-sale flips (both based on the "Short Sale Secrets" method, and what are now being called reverse shorts)
  • Pre-foreclosure "autopilot" sales
The autopilot thing should probably be on hold for a bit until I have some working capital.

So now I'll work on the others; and in fact TODAY I'll just send out the envelopes sitting in my outbox, print 3 offer letters for the land business, and find properties near the sheriff-sale date, to call on tomorrow.

The NODs; the longer term shorts will have to wait for days when I have a bit more time.
---------------
Also, before I have a chance to talk online again I'm likely to have a few hours of sitting; in which I'll do another two hours on the novel.

The Idea, and my first day

The idea of "intellectual property" as a lifetime occupation is somewhat vague, I freely admit. That's because, even at my *ahem* advanced age, I still suffer the "robot viking ninja pirate" career problem.

I have a few books in me; I have a few compositions I want to see SOMEone perform, and I have been poking at any NUMBER of products since forever. I was actually flogging a product functionally identical to the Powersquid to a manufacturer I had ties to. Sadly, my product got shelved, and while I was waiting for it to ripen someone else took over the market with it. C'est la vie; at least I know my ideas have some currency.

Work on THIS blog doesn't count, and work on projects over and above the two I mentioned last night may (or may not) be noted, but the main thing is completion or otherwise of a reasonable amount of productive work, and this level of accountability will, according to all those self-help types, will help.

Commentary and notes to myself will also occasionally appear. Just so you know.

For today, I want to be modest; I'll spend an hour on the book and 2 on foreclosures.

For today I'll keep it simple, being as it's so late already.

Every day I want to do some writing (most of which will eventually be posted HERE and some real-estate every day, for the time being.

The eventual plan is to work pretty much solely on intellectual properties, but for the time being working in foreclosures seems the fastest way to get out of the current level of brokeness.

I may also throw in other things like workouts and healthy eating, but at first this seems likelier to succeed if I keep it down to the minimum.

Speaking of being productive and persevering... I'm beat. heading to bed. See you in the morning.
Prometheus Grey here...

I work at home.

Not solely, sadly, but primarily. I have to get my crap DONE to get paid, and historically that hasn't happened. Thus the continuing lame-o jobs and grinding poverty.

AND thus, THIS blog.

Practically nobody even knows Theo Grey, but a couple of people do, and that's enough. I don't want to litter my main accounts with this, but I do need to post it. Without the accountability that a public listing gives, I'll continue my on-and-on-going BS-ing.  So here, I'll let the 'Net know just how flaky I am.

No dissimulation, no omission. The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Multiple levels of anonymity, true, but everyone knows how tissue-thin that is, online. This is to get me off my ass... so before anyone cares enough to find me here I'll have something worth admitting to.

The plan is to post EVERY SINGLE day what I have produced. As a blog, dull as ditchwater. But hopefully as an accountability method it will eventually become worth the reading, or at least the occasional cursory glance.

Wish me luck...
